Playstation 3 Explained In Two New Videos
One video named “Capacity” explains a bit about Blue Ray technology while another named “Smarter” tells a bit about the PS3’s processors. While both amount to being advertising more than Discovery Channel material they are interesting. Especially seeing as both make you feel like you’re watching a car ad in the Matrix.

Guitar Hero, beat on Easy, now for Medium!
Yes, the game is rather simple (still fun though) when playing through on Easy difficulty. You are able to unlock quite a few venues and quite a few songs, but in Medium you can unlock even more.
Easy only uses three of the five fret buttons, which doesn’t take long to master at all. However Medium uses four of the five and that presents a whole new challenge and I really can’t imagine using the fifth button at this point.
Unlocking new songs really keeps me playing, despite my left hand hurting. :p
Bully, another great game for the Playstation 2
So I picked the game up last night. The CE was ten bucks more so I didn’t get it. The dodge ball and comic that it came with weren’t worth it to me. And actually, my Babbages is closing down and they want people to use the new Gamestop store outside of the Mall so they were handing out 20% off coupons to use there. I scored my copy for only $32, rock!
It’s great fun so far and I really only have very minor complaints. One being that I feel the mini-map in the corner is too hard to read. At first I think I was trying to rely too much on it, locating prefects, etc. But now I get all Solid Snake peering around corners for them, lol.
The graphics are great, audio is impressive, and the game world and gameplay are extremely well done. Rockstar has really pulled through on their award winning quality.
AAA game for sure, it deserves the good scores that it is receiving.
Guitar Hero, are you ready to rock?
Thanks to an awesome deal, I was able to buy Guitar Hero for the Playstation 2 for only $40 from Outpost. Can you beleive that? Rock!
And also awesome, the latest Official Playstation Magazine has the Guitar Hero II demo on the DVD. Double rock!
Expect my Guitar Hero ramblings on here sometime very soon.
Lost 10-11-06
I honestly didn’t care too much for the episode; it was okay to me.
With showing the world series, they prove they can get tv, but that doesn’t really prove any kind of substantial contact with the outside world in my opinion.
And I think they may have ruined any kind of surprise of showing Desmond, Locke and Ecko next episode with that preview they showed.
Raging Bull
Since I knew I wouldn’t be able to see The Departed this weekend, I had to fix my Scorcese mood somehow so I decided to check out one of his classic films I haven’t seen before. Raging Bull fit the bill.
This is not your typical film, which is a good thing. It’s a work of cinematic art and a true collaboration of genius minds. It’s every bit of a DeNiro film as it is a Scorcese film when you consider how much input and dedication DeNiro put into it.
The rise and fall of Jake LaMotta, middle-weight boxer of the 40’s and 50’s, was a crazy ride to experience. It was interesting to hear that the real life LaMotta felt DeNiro could have boxed professionally after his year of training. The guy was indeed tough for this role. And then to see him gain all of that weight. I thought he was wearing a fat suit but in the special features they said it was a real. Holy **** that is some dedication.
This film really pumped me up, a couple of times I jumped out of my seat almost swinging. The boxing was very dramatic and so were the performances, from everbody. DeNiro won an Oscar, but damn Joe Pesci should have won something. I think he damn near stole the freaking show. His performances were amazing and were a bit shocking at times, especially whenever he goes ape over Sal and nearly beats him to death, smashing his head in the taxi cab door.
I also applaud the decision to go black and white for this film. It really made it feel like an older epic, and gave a certain grit to it.
I loved it whenever Jake, after letting himself be beaten to a bloody mess, goes over to his rival Sugar Ray and tells him that he never got him down. That was the moment the film really came together for me.
Another reason Scorcese is a genius. See this film if you haven’t.
X-Men 3, what a dud
This will contain massive spoilers! Beware!
Okay, it just came out on video. I saw the other two at the theatre and own them on DVD but something about X3 made me hold off on it, and honestly I am very glad that I did.
To me it was completely forgettable and not needed at all. Perhaps I was looking for fan service or something which I did not get with this film.
The characters seemed a little out of character to me. And I thought it was pretty lame to kill off so many characters, and have so many lose their powers. I also think it’s pretty lame and shows that they don’t have much faith in the film whenever they have Magneto lose his powers, only to hint that he gets them back at the end (watch the chess piece) and then to have Professor X come back to life (watch past the credits).
I really didn’t think that I cared much for Singer to be honest, the first two films are good for fans or for those that grew up reading the comics but are still pretty average films, IMO. But after seeing this third film, wow, it makes Singer (or perhaps David Hayter – Solid Snake himself) look like a freaking genius.
When you consider what a wasted potential this was, it makes you think twice about studio motives. As much loved as the X-Men films started out with, they really turned it into a cash cow just wanting to milk it out. I don’t feel like we gained much from three films, THREE FILMS. Do you know how much ground you can cover in three films? Yet we are still stuck with the same problems presented in the first film.
I really hope they take a better approach to the upcoming Wolverine and Magneto/Professor X films.
Lost cont.
Well I just finished watching the season 3 premiere of Lost. It was actually pretty good compared to the typical Lost episode. The very beginning was very nice with the twist they had. My wife and I KNEW something was up whenever they went outside after the ‘earthquake’ and were looking up at the sky. I also found it interesting that Henry Gale knew that there wold be survivors from both the front and tail section of the plane.
It seems that Jack, Kate, and Sawyer are in for some tough times. I do not envy them at all.
Lost… returns.
Can you believe that in two short days LOST will return to American airwaves? It seems that it was ages ago that we last set our eyes on those stranded on the island.
So do you think that they will explain anything from the finale? I think the biggest thing they should take care of is where is Desmond, Locke and Mr. Eko?! Whenever Charlie came back and was surprised they hadn’t returned, they all sat around singing songs and eating smores. Why not go look for your friends? Something is up with that.
