Day Break – our Lost replacement

November 17, 2006 at 1:36 pm (Film / TV)

So instead of Lost and The Nine we had Day Break, the new show starring Taye (real name Scott) Diggs about a guy stuck in a Groundhog Day / Déjà vu setup. It’s basically a sci-fi show with him trying to figure out why he’s being framed for murder and why he’s stuck in this daily loop.
I decided to give the two hour premiere a watch and see how things work out and I must say it held my attention and I did enjoy it.  I’ll be watching it while Lost is on hiatus until next year.

The Departed vs. Infernal Affairs… Fight!

November 17, 2006 at 1:32 pm (Film / TV)

I finally got to see The Departed at the theatre and I enjoyed it, but in my own honest opinion, I believe Infernal Affairs to be the better film. It made me feel for the characters more, contained the same impressive story, and did it all in a shorter running time. Not that I dislike movies that are long, but The Departed did feel kind of long to me, and admittedly that could have been because I had already seen Infernal Affairs and I basically knew what was coming up.
I also felt that Infernal Affairs had some better dialogue, but how much of that is from the translation or the original HK script, I don’t know.

This really, really excites me.  Read on…

Bully update #2

November 6, 2006 at 5:59 pm (Playstation)

Well if I would have waited another day to give an update on my Bully progress I could have said that I have finished it, which is something that I did yesterday morning.  Very good game, a lot of fun and nothing even remotely near a “Columbine simulator” that was being thrown around in the media weeks before its release.  I look forward to Rockstar Games next efforts, and especially Grand Theft Auto IV for the Playstation 3.

The Prestige

November 4, 2006 at 2:00 pm (Film / TV)

I saw this last weekend but didn’t give my impressions, so I will now!

I’d like to say that this was an excellent film, both well directed and well acted. Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman give amazing performances. It honestly took me a few days to shake off the film, it really stuck with me.

I doubt that I need to mention what the film is about, at least if you don’t know check out a trailer.

Bully update

November 4, 2006 at 1:55 pm (Playstation)

I still haven’t finished the game but according to the game I’ve put in about 13 hours, however I’m not sure if it counts while the game is paused.  I haven’t been keeping track of the time myself.  I think it said I was 36 or 38% finished, and overall it has been well worth my time and it’s doing a good job at not feeling tedious.

I’ve got Jimmy dressed to my liking right now as well.  He’s sporting the faux mohawk and black army sweater, black cargo pants and fancy angst boots.  It was pretty funny however when I put him in tiny swim suit, wife beater, country boots and the bandit mask (think zorro) and was spending my time sneaking into the girls dormatory.  :D

I pretty much rule the school but still have the jocks to win over.  I’m doing fairly well in all of my classes and have mastered a couple of them.  Though shop is giving me some troubles, lol.

I just felt like giving a little update and I’m looking forward to playing more and ultimately finishing it.
