About the Author
Born in the summer of 1980, I have been spreading my influence on all walks of life ever since. I am married to a beautiful woman who was my high school sweetheart and I have a beautiful daughter named Zoe, who was born in the year 2004. Time really does go by fast whenever you have a child, if you blink you will miss it.
I am interested in art, games, film, literature and the pursuit of happiness; not necessarily in that order either. Hopefully one day everyone on the Earth will be able to live in harmony.
I am probably more a fan of film than I am of games. Nowadays however, many games are interactive films; think about that. Check out my PS2 library to see what I am interested in. Soon I will have a film library list up so we can compare notes on that too.
For more things that I am interested in, you can check out my Wish List. It’s basically a compilation of my materialistic passions, or in other words things I plan on buying myself or wishing others to buy me.
I am interested in World War II enough to call myself a ‘WW2 buff’; I read books and watch films and documentaries on the subject, mostly on the Airborne Infantry and the European Theatre. Someday I would love to take a vacation to the beaches of Normandy and then on to Holland to revisit the old battlegrounds.
My ancestors were from Ireland so I have the Irish Pride within me. I would love to take a vacation to Ireland as well one of these days. And speaking of vacations, another place I plan on visiting is Japan, the land of the rising sun.
I am currently working at a commercial screen printing company after going to school for Graphic Arts. I am the production manager of this facility and also moonlight as the IT department. ![]()
I am a fan of a wide variety of films, and find it extremely difficult to come up with a favorite film list. Some of my all-time favorites are Japanese samurai films, especially those that star Toshiro Mifune.
Coming up with a list of favorite directors is probably an easier task, one that I will attempt now. Miyazaki, Kubrick, Kurosawa, Leone, Gilliam, Cronenberg, Shyamalan, Spielberg, and The Wachowski Brothers.
My favorite comedy television show is Seinfeld, while my favorite drama is The Sopranos. The best mini-series I have ever seen is Band of Brothers, and not just because I’m a WW2 nut, but I am sure that it helps. I try not to watch too much television, however whenever the regular season is running I’ve been hooked on 24, Lost, My Name is Earl, and The Office. I am quite enjoying this off season time though and deliberately keep the television off. I do however watch PBS with some regularity.
I try my best to drink as much water as I can during the day, however my addiction to Coke (the soft drink, silly) makes me forget at times. Speaking of soft drink, I prefer the term soda over the popular word pop when referring to a soft drink.
I have a strong attraction to all things science fiction, samurai, and zombies. If there was one film or game that rolled all three into one I do believe it would be heavenly. ![]()
Growing up in the 80’s, popular kid culture greatly influenced me. This was thanks to Star Wars, Transformers, GI Joe and countless other films and cartoons which led to amazing toy lines to help grow my imagination. To this day, I still think that Darth Vader may in fact be my father. ![]()
My favorite band is Tool, along with Johnny Cash, W.A. Mozart, A Perfect Circle and many others finding their way into my daily listening grind.
The first game that made me see games in a completely different light was the game Metal Gear Solid, directed by the awesome Hideo Kojima. I still remember playing it for the first time in 1998 on my Sony Playstation console. Ever since then Metal Gear Solid has become a gaming passion of mine and I’ve enjoyed every MGS game that has come out since. Other game franchises that I enjoy are: Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Katamari Damacy, Way of the Samurai, Hitman, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Silent Hill, Eyetoy, God of War, Shenmue, Tenchu, Twisted Metal, Half-Life, Doom, Tribes, Brothers in Arms, The Elder Scrolls (Morrowind and Oblivion), and Gran Turismo.
